FEVER MONITORING

We teach proper mask handling and hygiene.  Children are free to have breather breaks throughout the day and encouraged to do so.  Masks are not worn during nap time.  (All bedding is assigned to individual children with no sharing)   During lunch, children are reminded to wash hands, remove the mask by the elastic and to hand on the hook.  All hooks and areas are disinfected after each use.

online learning during the state of emergency

We are so fortunate that we have such a large facility and faculty that enables us to break our classes down into small learning groups who rotate between "fun zones" throughout the school during each day.  FRESH AIR IS ESSENTIAL TO BOOST CHILDREN'S IMMUNITIES AND KEEP THEM HEALTHY.
TEMPERATURES ARE TAKEN  AT HOME, AND regularly THROUGHOUT THE DAY. if a child in unwell OR has a FEVER they will BE SENT HOME IMMEDIATELY WITH CONTACT AND FOLLOW UP FROM OUR SCHOOL DIRECTOR.  RETURN TO SCHOOL HAS TO BE APPROVED by SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION.

"The preschool years never last long enough, but  the ABC experience will last a lifetime."

OUR SCHOOL IS THOROUGHLY CLEANED DAILY, ALL HIGH TOUCH AREAS ARE WIPED THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND TOYS STERILIZED THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND NIGHTLY.We use a non toxic, child friendly, eco-friendly product that effectively kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.A blend of Deodoriser and EPA Registered Hospital Grade QUAT Disinfectant that is effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria. Kills HIV-1, MRSA, VRE, Herpes Simplex 1 & 11, Listeria, E.Coli and other Pathogens, legionella pneumophila (Legionnaires Disease), SARS and most other air borne pneumonia bacteria.

we do not mandate mask use for students, teachers or visitors. However we do continue to monitor temperatures and symptoms and ask visitors and staff to do the same and reschedule visits/stay home if they are not well. TEachers, visitors and students are welcome to wear masks if they prefer.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE VIGILANT AND PRACTICE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF HYGIENE AND CAUTION WHILE PROVIDING CARE FOR OUR FAMILIES.

We closed for two weeks during the state of emergency and then did a soft re-open for families that needed care.  During that time, this is what we implemented for our students.

Online Learning:

-Each child could book two scheduled one on one virtual meet with student's teacher weekly.

-Each child could participate in 3-4 live learning sessions per day (then posted recordings on google classroom to view later or at their convenience)

-Daily online physical education classes

-Online scholastic curriculum to participate in and enhance their teacher live sessions.

-Weekly take-home  learning and activity packs that included art supplies, learning activities, gross motor props, and social-emotional regulation resources. If parents could not pick up, we sent by courier.

-Even when school resumed, we continued to provide all of the above for families that chose to stay home longer.

We will continue to provide daily online learning until June 1st.

BECAUSE OF OUR PLAYGROUND, INDOOR CLIMBING FRAMES,  RUNNING/BIKING TRACK, SAND PIT AND GARDEN AREAS, OUR STUDENTS DO NOT HAVE TO WALK TO LOCAL PARKS FOR GROSS MOTOR PLAY AND WE CAN PROVIDE A SAFE SANITIZED ENVIRONMENT AT ALL TIMES.
*we have resumed using local parks and playgrounds

social distancing

outside visitors

we facilitate space between children and encourage them to stay in their own air bubble.  We help them to visualize what that means by placing tape on the floor for spacing as well as mats for sitting on.
we have social distancing strategies available for parents and students if it becomes necessary again.
FOR TEACHERS AND CHILDREN, UPON ENTERING, EVERYBODY WASHes THEIR HANDS. WE HAVE HAND CLEANING BREAKS THROUGHOUT THE DAY (especially BEFORE EATING, COMING INSIDE etc) WE HAVE A MULTITUDE OF DIFFERENT HAND WASHING SONGS TO MAKE IT A LIVELY EXPERIENCE!

We can not predict the future but what we do know is that our community is strong and supportive and we all worked together to provide the best, safest possible experience for our students, families and teachers. we will always strive to go above and beyond for our abc community.

WE KNOW WHAT AN IMPORTANT DECISION CHOOSING YOUR CHILD'S PRESCHOOL IS AND THE TRUST AND CONFIDENCE THAT YOU NEED TO FEEL.
WE WOULD LOVE TO SHARE OUR SCHOOL WITH YOU THROUGH A PERSONAL VIRTUAL TOUR TO HELP MAKE YOUR DECISION EASIER.

EACH OF OUR ROOMS IN THE SCHOOL HAS AN AIR SCRUBBER WITH HEPA FILTER WHICH FILTERS 99.97 PARTICLES INCLUDING VIRUSES FROM THE AIR. IN ADDITION, WE HAVE ORDERED FOGGERS WHICH CAN DISINFECT A ROOM IN UNDER 5 SECONDS.  WE WILL BE USING THESE AT TRANSITION TIMES TO DISINFECT A ZONE PRIOR TO THE NEXT GROUP USING IT. WE USE CHILD- SAFE, NON-TOXIC CLEANER.

We supported our families by scheduling a virtual coffee morning, moral support, distribution of PPE, at-home learning guide, child-sized masks and wine!  (yes wine with a note saying that they were doing an amazing job at homeschooling as we KNOW it's not an easy job!)
